Aland
Aland have been a member of the NatWest Island Games since the very beginning back in 1985. Aland is a region of Finland, speaking Swedish. Aland is not and island but a collection of more than 6,500 islands. The main Island accounts for 70% of the total area and is populated by 90% of the total population (over 26,000).
Aland have had a good record at the Island Games and have taken home some 1st places. There first came with Billy Jansson in the Men’s 1,500 meters. They also beat some records back when they hosted the NatWest Island Games 1991, the fourth competition.
